Alti-2 Battery Life Test

Battery Life and Charging Guidelines

Lithium-ion rechargeable cells—like those in smartphones, tablets and our altimeters—typically endure about 500 full charge cycles. If you were to recharge daily, you’d see about 1.5 years of useful life.

However, daily charging of your altimeter is unnecessary. In fact, recharging once every 4–6 weeks—regardless of whether you’re jumping several times per day—will extend the battery’s effective lifespan beyond 10 years. (Watch our brief demonstration video for more on optimal charging intervals.)

ATLAS Audible Warning & Charge Time

When used in audible mode, the ATLAS issues a low-battery warning tone at 1 000 ft AGL. Even then, you still have capacity for 10–15 additional jumps. A full recharge takes just one hour.
